Hazelnuts don't grow on trees but on bushes. They can be eaten raw but are often blanched and roasted and/or diced to be used in the confectionary and pastry industry. They are commonly known to be a perfect mix with chocolate for praline and further hazelnuts are often used as an ingredient in cereals, chocolate bars and ice cream.
